HTC posts Q1 loss, sales recover in March

Smartphone maker HTC reported first-quarter sales down 22.6 percent year-on-year to TWD 33 billion. However, sales returned to growth in March, up 2.2 percent from a year earlier to TWD 16.2 billion, more than double the amount in February. This helped the company approach its guidance for quarterly sales, of TWD 34-36 billion. Sales were still down from TWD 43 billion in the fourth quarter. HTC reported an operating loss of TWD 2.05 billion for the first quarter, its third consecutive quarter in the red, as well as a net loss of TWD 1.88 billion. The company will release a detailed quarterly
