HTC has unveiled two new versions of its U11 smartphone. The U11 Plus is a premium version of HTC's flagship phone, while the U11 life is a mid-range model, which will come with Android One in certain markets.

The U11 Plus comes with a larger screen than its predecessor, at 6.0 inches, with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,880 pixels, as well as HTC's Edge Sense system to squeeze the body of the phone to activate common functions. It runs the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, with 50 percent more memory at 6 GB and double the storage at 128 GB, and a large 3,930 mAh battery. The 12-megapixel camera on the back is the same, and there is an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The device will sell for a recommended EUR 799 and launch before year-end.

The U11 life features a 5.2-inch screen and durable body, Snapdragon 630 processor and 16-megapixel cameras on both the front and the back. It launches with Android 7.1 and will be upgraded to 8.0 within 30 days. Sales start on 03 November in the US and Canada for USD 349, with T-Mobile getting the exclusive on the phone in the US.

A version of the U11 life running Android One will launch in Europe and Asia, starting first in Germany on Amazon.de and in Media Markt. Android One offers a 'pure' Android experience, optimised for Google software such as Google Assistant. The U11 life will be the first Android One phone running 8.0 Oreo. In Europe, it will sell for EUR 349.
