Huawei expects 42% jump in consumer revenues for 2016

Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) expects 2016 revenues to rise 42 percent from the year before to CNY 178 billion, achieving steady growth for the fifth consecutive year. Smartphone shipments increased by 29 percent to 139 million units. Huawei CBG also noted it successfully broke into the European high-end market and that its Huawei's overseas smartphone shipments equaled domestic shipments, with mid-high end handset shipments rising to 36 percent. Total shipments for tablets across both B2B and B2C areas surged 90 percent to over 10 million units.
