Huawei inaugurates OpenLab Bangkok

Huawei has launched its OpenLab Bangkok to provide ICT infrastructure support for enterprises. With a total investment of USD 15 million, the OpenLab Bangkok is the 7th of Huawei worldwide, following previous ones opened in Suzhou, Mexico, Munich, Singapore, Johannesburg and Dubai. OpenLab Bangkok is a 2,000 square meters space at G Tower that houses Huawei Thailand’s new headquarters. According to Huawei, the OpenLab Bangkok will support customers and partners in the industry digital transformation, providing them with an open platform and data center resources, help solve service testing and accelerate innovations. The centre will also provide ICT training service.

The OpenLab Bangkok will support Huawei’s joint service launches with its customers and partners in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, from various sectors including smart city, public safety, smart grid, finance, education, transport, and internet service providers.

The OpenLab Bangkok is expected to offer ICT training to 800 persons per year; ICT Career Certification (500 persons/year); and Proof Concept Testing (150 persons/year). It is also expected to welcome more than 20 batches of ICT startup companies’ visit or communication annually.

The OpenLab Bangkok’s collaboration projects include the Provincial Electricity Authority’s Power ICT Solutions Innovation Project; The Royal Thai Police Public Safety eLTE Trunking Joint Innovtion Project; and the King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang’s Smart City Startup Cooperation Project. Partners stationed in the Bangkok OpenLab include more than 40 international and local partners including SAP, Microsoft, Honeywell, Bombardier, Oracle, Accenture, and Infosys.
