
The Mate 8 also comes with a 4,000mAh high-density battery, which deliver over two days of normal usage, according to the company. With rapid charging technology, the phone can charge a day’s worth of power in 30 minutes. Running on Huawei’s EMUI 4.0, based on Android Marshmallow 6.0, the Huawei Mate 8 comes with new features such as automatic defragmentation to optimize system performance, a split-screen mode for multitasking between apps and 'super hands-free' mode, as well as am enhanced fingerprint sensor, real-time encryption of stored data and a microSD card lock. The Mate S also features a Sony 16 megapixel back camera and 8-megapixel front camera.
The Huawei Mate 8 will be initially available in 30 countries, including Spain, Germany, France, United Arab Emirates, Mexico and Australia. The device will cost EUR 599 for 3GB and 32GB memory and EUR 699 for 4GB and 64GB. It is available in four colours: champagne gold, moonlight silver, space gray and mocha brown.
