Huawei launches own music streaming service in MENA

Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) has launched its own music streaming service across markets in the MENA region, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq and Jordan. Huawei said in a statement that there are plans to gradually expand it to more countries in the region. Huawei Music Service is a free music store pre-installed on all Huawei devices with operating system EMUI 5.0 or higher, with no commercial interruptions.

As a first milestone, Huawei Music Service is exclusively adding one of the latest songs of Arab singer Elissa, 'Al Makhfi', to its music library for all Huawei users until 25 July. In addition to this exclusive song, Elissa has also recorded fifteen songs that will be launched on Huawei Music Service on 26 July. The library will also include the late singer and actress Warda Al-Jazairia’s song ‘Wahashtony’.

Huawei Music Service has partnered with Rotana, the Arabic music content provider in the region, to offer music from top artists in the MENA market, such as Mohammad Abdo, Majid Al Muhandis, Elissa, Angham Wael Kfoury and Hatem Al Iraqi. In addition, Huawei has partnered with local and international content providers such as Qanawat and Mazzika, which will bring additional songs to the user in the coming months.

During July, all MENA Huawei CBG consumers with system EMUI 5.0 and above may receive upgrade notification or system push notification. Huawei Music plans to bring multiple activities and incentives for their listeners such as competitions to participate and win surprises soon.
