Huawei to invest USD 60 mln into Angola technology park

Huawei Angola will invest USD 60 million into the construction of a technology park in Angola, with construction work due to start next year, reports Lusa. According to Huawei's director in Angola, Chu Xiaoxin, more than 1,500 partners and engineers will be trained at the technology park.

Last week, Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding with the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of training talent in ICT. The Chinese company will provide 500 hours of ICT training to 50 public employees and 3,000 hours of Huawei certification training for ICT-related employees.

Huawei Angola says it expects to complete the technology park by December 2021, Xinhua reported. Xiaoxin said the park, under construction in the capital's Talatona district, will be made up of three centers for training Angolan engineers, developing new technologies and exchanging advanced tech experience.
