
Hulu eyes USD 500 mln in revenues in 2011

US online TV portal Hulu is on track to report USD 500 million in revenues in 2011, nearly double the USD 263 million generated in 2010. The company said revenues in the first quarter of this year rose 90 percent year-on-year and its advertiser base was up 50 percent over the same period. Hulu said it will pay content producers about USD 300 million this year; the company had a total 264 content partners at the end of Q1, up from 211 a year earlier. In terms of customer numbers, the company expects to exceed 1 million subscribers for the paid service Hulu Plus this year. The number of streams by existing customers was up 10 percent in the first quarter versus Q4 2010.
