Hutchison buys 3G license in Norway
[Rectification] Hutchison Whampoa will expand its services throughout the Scandinavian area, through its Swedish Hi3G joint venture. Hi3G, which operates under the Three brand in Sweden, will start commercial services in Denmark this autumn and Norway is seen as a build out from these bases. Through its Hi3G joint venture with Sweden's Investor the Hong Kong group paid NKK 62 million (EUR 7.64 million) for an operating licence in Norway. Under the conditions of the licence it will have to provide coverage for 30 per cent of the country's population within six years, the Financial Times reports.
