Hutchison Drei Austria is starting to provide fixed-network services under its own brand, after the acquisition of provider Tele2 Austria and its network. Drei introduced fixed network tariffs both for homes and for business customers, including discounts for customers who already take mobile services from the operator.
Drei acquired Tele2 in autumn 2017 for nearly EUR 100 million. In the first half of 2018, Drei recorded revenue of EUR 427 million with 3.81 million mobile, fixed network and internet customers and around 1,500 employees. Nothing substantial changes for the existing Tele2 clients, especially for the big customers, but they will be able to benefit from the bigger customer care network and LTE network, the operator said.
Hutchison Drei Austria's new home internet tariffs start at 10 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload for EUR 14 a month and range up to 150/20 Mbps for EUR 59. Households with at least two contracts for mobile services with Drei will get a discount of EUR 14 on the new tariffs, and customers who have one mobile contract will get a discount of EUR 7 on the new tariffs. Households and businesses with two mobile contracts get the new basic tariff StartNet with the speed 10/1 Mbps free.
These plans, called Startnet and Easynet, are available over the LTE or fixed network and replace the former Hui Flat offers from Drei. All come with unlimited data volumes.
Big firms that switch to Drei will get mobile and fixed network services, including the internet, for two months free.
