Hyundai, Kia to add AI assistants to cars from 2019
Korean carmakers Hyundai and Kia want to add AI-powered virtual assistants to their auto-vehicles from 2019, writes TechCrunch. Using technology created by SoundHound, Hyundai and Kia's assistants will suggest destinations or offer remote car and smart home control using voice commands, and provide news and weather. The so-called Intelligent Personal Assistant will get its official debut at CES 2018. It will be tested in cars on actual roads starting in 2018 and will be implemented in cars from 2019.

Other automakers interested in the in-car AI growing trend are Toyota, Nissan and Honda which have demonstrated concept versions of car-specific assistants they want to launch. Ford is also collaborating with Amazon and other companies to bring AI-based assistants to their cars.
