IBM plans to cut 2,300 jobs in Germany

Friday 30 October 2020 | 10:49 CET | News
The German union Ver.di said that IBM plans to cut 2,300 jobs in Germany in the fourth quarter in a restructuring process. IBM aims to carry out a voluntary redundancy programme but if it does not succeed, IBM could announce compulsory redundancies by the end of the year. IBM plans to spin off the infrastructure services business in the future and to simplify the structure, CEO Arvind Krishna explained at the beginning of October. The trade union Ver.di asks IBM to offer training to employees to keep their skills up to date.
