Intel, Qualcomm may invest JPY 30 bln in Sharp - report
Intel and Qualcomm are considering a joint investment in debt-laden Japanese electronics maker Sharp. Details of the talks between the parties are not known, but the two companies are believed to consider investing about JPY 30 billion in Sharp, Reuters reports citing two sources close to the matter. An agreement could be reached as early as the end of this month between Sharp and Qualcomm, one source said, while talks with Intel are less concrete.

Sharp has announced that it will issue 11.87 million shares for JPY 5.96 billion to Qualcomm as the second part of the companies' capital alliance to mass produce MEMS displays.
