iRiver launches e-reader with Google eBooks
The first e-reader integrated with the Google eBooks platform will launch on 17 July at Target stores in the US. The iriver Story HD e-reader retails for USD 139.99 and features a high-resolution e-ink screen, qwerty keyboard and Wi-Fi for over-the-air access to books. Google eBooks offers hundreds of thousands of titles for sale and more than 3 million for free. Users can also store their ebooks library in the cloud, for access from multiple devices.

Google buys eBook Technologies

Google has acquired eBook Technologies in order to deliver richer reading experiences on tablets, electronic readers and other portable devices, Dow Jones reported. eBook's technologies include an end-to-end electronic book platform offering a full range of ebook products and services.
