Isis launches Mobile Wallet in Austin and Salt Lake City
Isis, the mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, has announced the availability of the Isis Mobile Wallet in Austin and Salt Lake City. Consumers can now visit AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon retail locations and select from nine Isis Ready handsets, with an expected 11 additional handsets coming to market by end-2012. The Isis Mobile Wallet application can be downloaded from Google Play and is compatible with American Express, Capital One or Chase credit cards.

Google Wallet comes to MetroPCS

Google announced that its mobile payments service Google Wallet is now supported by a second carrier in the US, MetroPCS. The operator's customers with a Samsung Galaxy S III can now download the app to use Google Wallet, the company announced on Twitter. The service was previously only available with Sprint or its unit Virgin Mobile. Business Insider reports that Google has also updated the Wallet site, promising a new version of Google Wallet soon. Isis mobile payments service to launch in two test markets

Isis, the NFC mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, will go live in two test markets on Monday 22 October, reports Dow Jones Newswires. It will allow users to make purchases by tapping smartphones equipped with a special chip against merchant payment terminals. The service will support up to 20 handset types by end-2012, according to a statement from Jaymee Johnson, head of marketing for the service. The trials will take place in Salt Lake City and Austin

Micros Systems, provider of IT services for the hospitality and retail industries, has integrated the Isis SmartTap mobile commerce application into the Micros Simphony point of service (POS) platform. Consumers can now make purchases, redeem offers and present loyalty cards with the single tap of their smartphone. Micros rolled out the integration of Isis SmartTap at Aramark restaurant locations in Basking Ridge.
