Italy's Enel X launches Sia-backed mobile payment service
Italian payment technology service provider Sia and the financial services business of utility giant Enel have announced the launch of Enel X Pay mobile payment service. Enel X Pay is a native digital account, involving a card and an Italian IBAN, which allows users to perform multiple types of transactions, including the payment of bills and taxes, SEPA transfers, electric car charging and peer-to-peer money transfers with no additional costs.

Users can manage the Enel X Pay banking account directly from the app bundled with a digital and physical card. In addition, thanks to the Enel X Pay “family” option, a dedicated account can be activated for children between the ages of 11 and 18, providing them with a prepaid card while allowing them to make peer-to-peer transfers, withdrawals from ATMs as well as payments on e-commerce sites. 

Enel X Pay is already available on the Google Play Store and, in the coming days, on the Apple App Store. It is the first fruit of the strategic partnership between Sia and Enel X to develop new mobile banking products for customers of Enel X Financial Services.
