The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialised agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs), has launched a new focus group to support the emergence of ICT networks able to control their behaviour autonomously in the interests of efficiency. Participation is open to all interested parties.
The ITU Focus Group on "autonomous networks" will lead an exploratory "pre-standardisation" study to determine the ways in which ITU standards will support the realisation of autonomous networks and their evolution in years to come.
