John de Mol expands Versatel stake to 25 percent
Dutch media tycoon John de Mol has expanded his stake in Versatel from 10.2 percent to 25.06 percent as on 10 November 2004, writes Dutch daily Het Financieele Dagblad, based on an AFM report. De Mol holds his stake through his investment company Talpa. De Mol increased his stake from 1.3 percent on 10 March to 5.1 percent on 14 May and doubled this to 10.2 percent on 14 July.

John de Mol heeft een belang van 25 procent genomen in het telecombedrijf Versatel, zo blijkt uit een melding bij de Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM). Het belang van de mede-oprichter van Endemol is momenteel EUR 215 miljoen waard. De investering van De Mol is ingegeven door financiële overwegingen, zegt woordvoerder Thomas Notermans namens Talpa, de investeringsmaatschappij van De Mol. Er zijn geen plannen om een meerderheidsbelang te verwerven.
