Juniper Networks buys Mist Systems for USD 405 mln

Juniper Networks has agreed to acquire Mist Systems, a specialist in AI cloud-managed mobile networks, for USD 405 million. The transaction is expected to close in Juniper’s fiscal second quarter. It will likely have a slightly accretive effect to adjusted earnings per share in 2020, after having a small dilutive effect this year, the company said. With the deal, Juniper will combine Mist’s WLAN platform with its own wired LAN, SD-WAN and security system, for an end-to-end user and IT offering.

Mist Systems, based in Cupertino, California, was founded in 2014, and it has raised USD 88.4 million to date, according to Crunchbase. Customers include Verizon Enterprise Solutions, FierceWireless said. The company also has an existing relationship with VMware.
