Kabel Deutschland, Arris achieve 4.7 Gbps
German cable network operator Kabel Deutschland announced that it was able to reach a download speed of 4.7 Gbps over its network. A field test using Eurodocsis 3.0 equipment from Arris showed top speeds of 4.7 Gbps, which the company claims to be a world record. The test used the Arris C4 CMTS and 12 Arris Touchstone CM820S cable modems, at a school in the city of Schwerin, Germany. The local network there was recently upgraded to 862 MHz.

German cable network operator Kabel Deutschland has added the content from the Penthouse, Penthouse and Penthouse 3D channels to the Selec Video on-demand service. The Penthouse films and clips are available from EUR 3.99.

Unitymedia Kabel BW, Cisco achieve 1.5 Gbps internet speed

German cable network operator Unitymedia Kabel BW and technology partner Cisco Systems have demonstrated ultra high-speed internet over an existing hybrid cable network at the ANGA Cable show. They demonstrated an internet speed of up to 1.5 Gbps in a live environment using DOCSIS 3.0 technology. Unitymedia Kabel BW currently delivers speeds of up to 150 Mbps for customers using this standard.

Het Duitse kabelbedrijf Kabel Deutschland maakt bekend dat het erin is geslaagd om een downloadsnelheid van 4,7 Gbps over haar netwerk te bewerkstelligen. Een testopstelling, waarbij gebruik werd gemaakt van Eurodocsis 3.0 apparatuur van Arris, bereikte deze topsnelheid. Volgens Kabel Deutschland betekent 4,7 Gbps een wereldrecord.
