Kogan, Coles join Australia MVNO market
Australian retailers Kogan and Coles are the latest new entrants on the MVNO market. Kogan is relaunching its MVNO under a new agreement with Vodafone, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. Kogan first launched in 2012 on the Telstra network, but was forced to end the service barely a year later after its reseller IspOne went under. 

Under its new offer, Kogan Mobile offers the prepaid plans 3XL, with unlimited national calls and texts and 3GB of data for AUD 29.90 for 30 days, and 5XL, with unlimited calls and texts plus 5GB of data for AUD 36.90 for 30 days. Customers receive discounts if they pay for three or 12 months in advance and can also earn Qantas frequent-flyer points by buying Kogan plans. An additional 2 GB data for 30 days can be bought for AUD 14.95. Ruslan Kogan, founder of Kogan Mobile, told the paper that the company is now working directly with Vodafone, in order to ensure the success of the new MVNO. 

Coles meanwhile announced it would resell prepaid mobile services using the Singtel-Optus network. The company offers a 10-day plan with 400 MB data and unlimited calls and texts for AUD 10, targeting mainly the tourist market. Customers can also top up for AUD 10, valud for 60 days, and pay a rate of 12 cents per minute, SMS or MB.

Kogan Mobile to gain access to Vodafone's 4G network in June

Customers of Australian MVNO Kogan Mobile will be able to use Vodafone Australia's 4G network as of June, with all new and existing customers to be moved across to the higher-speed network without any increase in pricing, zdnet.com reports. Kogan Mobile was relaunched on Vodafone's 3G network in October last year following a short-lived tenure in the mobile industry in 2013, which was marked by an unfortunate deal with ISPOne to resell Telstra 3G services.

Telstra tells Kogan Mobile customers to switch providers

Customers of Australian MVNO Kogan Mobile have been told to change to another operator after Kogan's wholesaler, ispOne, went into voluntary administration, ABC News reports. ispOne cancels Telstra contract, appoints administrators

Australian mobile services reseller ispOne has cancelled its wholesale contract with Telstra and appointed administrators. The Australian Financial Review writes that Ferrier Hodgson is believed to have been appointed to handle administration. A court recently stopped Telstra from cancelling a contract with ispOne, which would cut off service to over 280,000 customers. ispOne took the matter to court winning an injunction which was appealed by Telstra. The Victorian Supreme Court has ordered Telstra mobile wholesaler ispOne to pay damages and court costs to MVNO Kogan Mobile for breaching the wholesale agreement between the parties. The court found that ispOne breached the agreement with Kogan when it stopped 211 Kogan Mobile customers from recharging their prepaid service and suspended accounts of 700 customers.
