Korean mobile TV operators will introduce interactive services in December. The country's six terrestrial DMB operators will start 'DMB 2.0' services in December and allows customers to access a range of data services such as e-commerce, stock updates, and personal video recording, The Korea Times reports. Despite services being available shortly, there are no handsets as yet that support the technology. Satellite DMB operator TU Media, an SK Telecom affiliate, will launch a handset that supports interactive services before the end of this year. The mobile TV providers hope the new services will boost the struggling service. TU Media provides its services on a subscription bases and has about 2 million subscribers. The company has yet to break-even. The terrestrial DMB providers, which operate an advertising-funded service, saw revenues of less than KRW 10 billion in 2008.
