KPN not allowed to offer free internet access
A Dutch court ruled that KPN is not allowed to offer free of charge internet access to Dutch schools. KPN gave all Dutch schools the opportunity to sign up for three years ADSL internet access via its ISP XS4ALL and the OPTA as well as the NMa did not object against this offer, as they are of the opinion that KPN is not a significant market power in the field of broadband internet. The Dutch court however judged that KPN does have such market power, after competitors nl.tree and Easynet filed a lawsuit. KPN responded that it will appeal to the court ruling.
