KPN resumes paying dividends; Q3 results
KPN's third quarter figures showed a net profit of EUR 172 million, excluding exceptional items, and it announced it will resume paying dividends. In the past three months the company gained 398,000 mobile customers and 96,000 ADSL customers. The number of i-mode users grew with 188,000 to a total of 541,000 on September 30. KPN says it still holds on to its target of 1 million i-mode users at the end of the year. Net debt was reduced to EUR 9.4 billion versus EUR 13.9 billion after the third quarter of 2002. CEO Ad Scheepbouwer: "I am pleased to announce that KPN is returning to the ranks of cash dividend paying companies."
