KT to provide LTE technology to Rwanda
South Korean communications provider KT has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Rwanda on LTE. KT and the government will establish a joint venture to provide KT's LTE technology to local mobile operators, the JoongAng Daily writes citing Kim Hong-jin, president of the global & enterprise division at KT. This is not KT's first ICT involvement in Rwanda. The company rolled out a wireless broadband system in 2007, a backbone network in 2008, and a nationwide fibre network in 2010.
