African entertainment platform Kwese iflix has introduced plans to bring out more original African content, including African scripted drama, docu-series, and pan-regional alternative news and live coverage. The announcement follows the premiere of the company's first Kwese iflix Original series in Kenya, Nganya. From 22 November, users across Africa can stream and download the 13-part drama series exclusively on Kwese iflix. Produced by leading Kenyan production house, Assignments Studios, Nganya is a Swahili drama centred around the matatu business in Nairobi’s Eastlands.
Customers can download the Kwese iflix app from the Google Play or Apple App stores and enjoy four episodes each week for free. Kwese iflix users with VIP passes can binge watch all thirteen episodes immediately. Following the launch of Nganya, Kwese iflix also announced the December release of its original Tanzanian Telenovela, Nyavu.
In Nigeria, Kwese iflix will be launching an innovative docu-series early next year. Kwese iflix has additionally greenlit a number of projects which underpin the company’s commitment to local and home grown talent.
