Lenovo has unveiled a new range of 'smart tabs' at CES. The tablets come with a docking station and Amazon's Alexa digital assistant to turn them into a smart display and speaker in the home. In addition, Lenovo presented the Smart Clock with Google Assistant, a similar product designed to work as a home hub.
The Smart Clock is designed to work as an alarm clock in the bedroom. It can also act as a speaker to play music, control smart home devices and display personal functions such as a calendar and weather. With a soft-touch cover and 4-inch touch screen, the device is expected to go on sale in the spring for USD 80.
The Lenovo Smart Tabs are a new category of 2-in-1 tablets that turn into smart screens with Amazon Alexa when docked. When the tablet is placed in the included Lenovo Smart Dock, it transforms into a 'Show Mode' smart screen device, able to control other devices in the home and present services such as photos, video, calendar and other Alexa functions.
Two models of Smart Tab are available to start, the Lenovo Tab M10 in Slate Black or the Lenovo Tab P10 in Aurora Black. The devices come with a 10-inch full HD screen and Android OS. Pre-orders are planned to start this month, at recommend prices of USD 300 for the P10 and USD 200 for the M10.
