
Lenovo announced at the Ifa consumer electronics show the new smartphones Vibe X2 and Vibe Z2. The X2 is the first to run MediaTek's MT6595 True8Core processor with LTE. It also features a 5-inch FHD display, a 5-megapixel wide-angle front camera, 13-megapixel back camera with auto focus and 32 GB internal storage. The X2 comes in a three-layer design with a choice of four colors and click-on accessories. The Vibe Xtensions include an additional battery and speaker, which work as a fourth layer that clicks on to the phone. The battery also serves as a protective case and the speaker has a kickstand to set up the phone for calls or music listening.
The Vibe Z2 is Lenovo's first phone with 64-bit architecture, using a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm. It comes with an ultra-bight 5.5-inch HD display, 3000mAh battery, 32 GB internal storage, LTE, 8 megapixel front camera, 13-megapixel rear camera and dual-SIM support. The new phones will be available first in China starting in October, and subsequently in Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and the Middle East in countries where Lenovo smartphones are currently sold. The Vibe X2 will retail at USD 399 and the Z2 at USD 429.
