Lenovo to close USD 2.1 bln IBM server acquisition on 01 Oct

Lenovo confirmed it will close its acquisition of IBM's x86 server business on 01 October for USD 2.1 billion. In a statement announcing the deal's impending closure some 9 months after it was first announced, Lenovo said it had received regulatory approval from US, European and Chinese authorities, and that the handover will take place in most major markets starting this week, and be completed in the remaining countries in early 2015. The deal includes System x, BladeCenter and Flex System blade servers and switches, x86-based Flex integrated systems, NeXtScale and iDataPlex servers and
