The LG G3 smartphone runs on Android 4.4.2 and features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor (up to 2.5GHz quad-core), a 5.5-inch quad HD IPS display, 16/32GB eMMC ROM, microSD slot for expandable memory up to 128GB, a 13.0-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS and Laser Auto Focus, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and a 3,000mAh battery.
New features include a 'smart' keyboard that adapts to the user's typing style and words and can be resized to fit their fingers. The smart notice system acts as a personal assistant, providing suggestions and recommendations based on user behaviour, phone usage and location. For security, LG offers its Knock Code system for unlocking the device by tapping a pattern on the screen and a 'kill switch' to disable the phone remotely in the event it's stolen or lost. The company is also introducing wireless charging accessories for the G3.
The phone features a polished metal rear cover and a "floating arc" form factor for ease of use in one hand. The new device will be available in Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red. In the US, the LG G3 will be available later in the summer from T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, Verizon and Best Buy. As part of the LG G3 Open Beta Sweepstakes, LG is giving away one G3 smartphone each day, from 27 May through 29 June.
