LG Electronics more than doubles Q2 operating profit
LG Electronics announced preliminary results for the second quarter showing revenues up 0.5 percent year-on-year to KRW 14 trillion. The company's operating profit jumped to KRW 584.6 billion from KRW 244.1 billion a year ago. 

Results were also up compared to the first quarter, with sales up 4.8 percent and operating profit 15.7 percent. LG released at the end of March its latest flagship smartphone, the G5. The full Q2 results will be announced later this month.

LG shakes up executive team to revamp mobile business

LG Electronics has started a major shake-up of senior executives in its mobile business division. On 1 July, LG has announced it has created a program management office (PMO) in its handset business and replaced some executives, The Korea Times reports. LG to start global sales of G5 smartphone on 31 March

LG Electronics will start selling its latest flagship smartphone, the G5, worldwide later this week.
