LG announced the new Optimus Sol. The mid-range smartphone is the first LG phone with an Ultra Amoled display, measuring 3.8 inches. The Android 2.3 phone comes with a 1GHz processor and 5 megapixel camera. The Dark UI helps save on batter use by using less white in the display, while Amoled uses less energy to display black. The phone will launch first in Europe, from mid-September.
