LG to begin global roll-out of LTE TDD smartphones
LG Electronics will commence the worldwide roll-out of LTE TDD-compliant smartphones. The company announced it will start offering LTE TDD devices with the introduction of its Optimus G smartphone in Saudi Arabia and will offer LTE TDD devices this year in China, India, North America, Japan and Australia, with additional countries to follow.

LG confirms G2 as next flagship smartphone

LG Electronics announced that its next flagship device will be known as the G2. This will be the first smartphone under its new 'G' premium brand. Future smartphones in the same series will carry only the G name, dropping the Optimus brand previously used. The branding of existing mobile devices will continue unchanged. In addition, LG's premium 4:3 display smartphones will be rebranded as Vu: going forward. LG is expected to announce more details of the G2 in early August.

Finland-based provider of file systems Tuxera has teamed up with LG Electronics (LGE) under which Tuxera's exFAT file system is integrated into LGE Mobile products. LG to launch TV-centric cloud service in 40 countries

LG Electronics will roll-out the TV-centric service in more than 40 countries including Europe, Asia, Central Asia and Latin America regions by the end of next month. LG Electronics reported a drop in first-quarter profits, as a strong improvement at its mobile phone activities was offset by weakness at the home entertainment division.
