LG to unveil X series smartphones at MWC

LG Electronics will introduce its ‘X’ smartphone series at the Mobile World Congress 2016. The first two models in the series, the X cam and the X screen, will debut at MWC in Barcelona on 22 February.

The X cam mass-tier smartphone sports dual cameras on the rear. With 3D Bending Glass, the X cam features a curved finish on the front and a profile of 5.2mm. The X cam includes a 5.2-inch FHD In-cell Touch display, 1.14GHz Octa-Core chipset, 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear cameras, as well as 8-megapixel front camera. The device also includes 2GB RAM / 16GB ROM, 2,520mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The LG X cam will be available in Titan Silver, White, Gold, and Pink Gold colors.

The X screen smartphone is equipped with an ‘Always-on’ Second Screen which until now has only been available on LG’s premium V10. The second screen sits above the main 4.93-inch HD In-cell Touch display mainly for multi-tasking purposes. With the 1.76-inch Second Screen, users can access frequently used apps, answer calls without interrupting the current activity or play music. The Second Screen also enables users to check time, date, battery status and other notifications without turning on the phone.

The X screen includes a 4.93-inch FHD In-cell Touch display, and secondary 1.76-inch LCD, 1.2GHz Quad-Core chipset, 13-megapixel rear camera, and 8-megapixel front camera. The device also includes 2GB RAM / 16GB ROM, 2,300mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The LG X screen will be available in Black, White, and Pink Gold colors.

LG’s X series will debut in key markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America starting March. Visitors to MWC can see the new X series at LG’s booth in Fira Gran Via from 22 to 25 February.
