LG Electronics has unveiled its 'Internet Digital DIOS' refrigerator, the world's first digital, Web-enabled fridge. The device offers Internet connection and various other features such as online shopping and a video phone. The company has invested Won15 bil into R&D of the Internet fridge since 1997. It has also filed 75 patent applications in S Korea and overseas which will have an impact on the fledgling Internet home automation market. The new device has a 15.1-in TFT LCD screen and LAN port and supports video telephony and a Web camera, enabling users to take photos and send video
