LG Uplus unveils unlimited voice plans
South Korean mobile carrier LG Uplus has unveiled new unlimited voice plans, reports the Global Post. The eight new plans aimed at LTE subscribers include three with unlimited on-net calls and five with unlimited calls to all networks. The first three come with monthly fees of KRW 34,000, KRW 42,000 and KRW 52,000, and offer 110, 140 and 195 minutes to other networks, respectively. In a press conference in Seoul, CEO Lee Sang-chul said that the company expects to lose revenue on the plans, but he hoped these will help steer the industry away from the costly subsidy war. The new plans also include an option for unlimited voice and data at KRW 124,000 per month.

LG Uplus nearing 3 mln broadband subs

South Korean communications provider LG Uplus gained 27,865 new broadband customers in March, continuing its uptick in monthly net adds for internet services. The company ended the month with 2.80 million broadband subscribers, including 1.79 million optical LAN subscribers, 818,228 HFC 100 Mbps subscribers, and 192,268 HFC 10 Mbps subscribers. LG Uplus rolls out Casio LTE smartphone

South Korean mobile operator LG Uplus will release unlimited LTE data plans on 31 Janaury. The plan will be available until 30 April, the JoongAng Daily writes. The plans start at KRW 95,000 for 14 GB of high-speed data. After that data is limited to 3 GB per day, and customers going over this limit will have their connection speed throttled to 2 Mbps. KT, LG Uplus launch LTE data sharing plans

South Korean mobile operators KT and LG Uplus plan to introduce an LTE data sharing service. The plans will allow subscribers to share LTE data allowance among multiple devices, Yonhap reports. KT will charge an additional KRW 7,500 per device to enable the service, and customers can share with up to nine devices. LG U+ will charge KRW 7,000 per month. Meanwhile, rival SK Telecom said it is in the process of registering a similar plan with the telecommunications regulator.
