LogicaCMG wins O2 Germany SMS contract
LogicaCMG today announced that it has won a contract to migrate O2 Germany’s short messaging services architecture to a complete IP-based Next Generation Messaging infrastructure. This infrastructure will provide O2 Germany with a stable, scalable platform for launching the latest short messaging services to its customers. The end-to-end Next Generation Messaging solution creates a fully integrated, IP-based platform combining core components for centralised provisioning of services and subscribers, prepaid billing, business intelligence and reporting, and centralised performance management and alerts. It will enable O2 Germany to closely monitor the quality of service delivery to users and provide detailed data for measuring the success of its promotional campaigns. The solution will also speed time-to-market for new enhanced messaging offerings, including advanced personalisation, to O2 Germany’s 8 million customers, whilst seamlessly extending the capacity of its existing infrastructure to support projected subscriber growth. O2 Germany selected the LogicaCMG solution based on its ability to meet closely defined technical requirements, particularly in relation to scalability and redundancy, and its ability to integrate with the existing network. The IP-based platform provides a cost-effective, future proof infrastructure that will scale to meet increasing traffic demands as well as integrate with other messaging delivery engines.
