MasMovil sales up 69% to EUR 130 mln in 2015

Spanish telecommunications provider MasMovil Ibercom reported revenues of EUR 130.2 million in 2015, up 69 percent compared to the EUR 77.0 million posted the previous year. The company’s full-year EBITDA came to EUR 10.7 million, nearly tripling the year-earlier result of EUR 3.7 million, with the EBITDA margin rising 1.6 percentage points to 8.5 percent. However, the operator posted a net loss of EUR 1.5 million compared to a EUR 144,000 profit in 2014. Capex grew from 4.4 million in 2014 to EUR 10 million last year thanks to an aggressive M&A strategy as well as the acquisition of 13 of Jazztel's broadband exchanges, allowing it to offer fibre services to 720,000 households in Spain's largest cities.

MasMovil increased its mobile customer base to 458,000 by the end of December, some 29 percent more than the same time last year. The company is targeting 1 million mobile lines and close to 400,000 fixed broadband customers by 2018 and is due to launch a low-cost fibre broadband plus mobile convergent service for under EUR 40 per month later this month.

At the presentation of its results, the company said it also plans to open 50 MasMovil stores on a franchise basis, above all in Spanish cities covered by its broadband network.
