Mediaset increases stake in Germany's ProSiebenSat.1 to 20%

Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset has announced the acquisition of a further 4.25 percent stake in German counterpart ProSiebenSat.1 to just under 20 percent as part of its plan to set up a pan-European TV platform. Mediaset paid around EUR 61 million to secure just over 9.9 million shares via its Mediaset Spain unit, raising its stake to 9.75 percent of ProSiebenSat.1. The parent company already owns 9.6 percent, with the overall stake corresponding to 20.1 percent of voting rights, excluding treasury stock.
