Mediaset Spain launches EUR 3 a month Mitele Plus International OTT service

Mediaset Spain has announced the launch of an international version of the Mitele Plus OTT streaming platform it rolled out domestically last summer. Initially available as web and mobile platform, with Smart TV access to come, Mitele Plus International costs EUR 3 a month or EUR 30 a year for an extensive catalogue of live and a la carte content with offline viewing and Live Restart functions. 

The service comes with ad-free access to Mediaset Spain’s in-house productions, Telecinco news programmes, Telecinco Cinema movies, an extensive catalogue of Spanish and international drama and top-level sporting events. Mediaset said the offer also includes content from the channel CincoMas, previously only available on a linear basis to the Spanish-speaking market in the Americas and now transferring to a VoD format "tailored to new viewing technologies".

Spanish pay-TV subscribers top 7 mln in Q4

Spanish pay-TV subscribers exceeded 7 million for the first time at the end of December after rising 6.4 percent year on year to reach 7.2 million, according to the latest official data released by communications regulator CNMC. Spanish court dismisses Mediaset appeal against merger suspension

Mediaset's corporate reorganisation plan remains on hold after a Spanish regional court rejected the Italian broadcaster's appeal against a temporary suspension order handed down last October. Mediaset Spain has confirmed plans to offer its first pay-TV service with the upcoming launch of an OTT platform called 'Mitele Plus'.
