Megafon grows telecom revenues 4.4% in Q3

Revenues from the telecommunications segment of Russian mobile operator Megafon grew by 4.4 percent year-on-year in the third  quarter, up to RUB 84.720 billion. OIBDA increased by 3.3 percent to RUB 33.339 billion, while the OIBDA margin totaled 39.4 percent, down by 0.4 percentage points. The net profit increased by 28.0 percent to RUB 8.121 billion.   

The consolidated revenues of the Megafon group grew by 21.1 percent to RUB 98.214 billion, following the takeover of internet group Mail.ru. The net profit increased by 39.5 percent to RUB 9.131 billion.  

Capital expenditure in the telecom segment increased by 7.7 percent to RUB 12.566 billion. The net cash flow amounted to RUB 10.820 billion in the telecommunications segment, up by 0.9 percent, while the net debt went to RUB 233.112 billion.

The mobile subscriber base amounted to 77.2 million at the end of September.  

Megason expects OIBDA for the full year to reach the high end of its forecast, at around RUB 118 billion and forecast a significant increase in service revenue in 2017. Capex for the full year will total RUB 55-60 billion, in line with its earlier guidance.
