Megafon launches VK Mobile service

Russian social network VKontakte, in cooperation with the mobile operator Megafon, has opened access to the VK Mobile MVNO service, reports Tdaily.ru. The service started earlier testing with a closed user group.

A monthly subscription costs RUB 399, plus a RUB 450 activation payment, which is transferred to the credit balance. 

VK Mobile offers free calls between subscribers of the MVNO. Calls to other networks, including Megafon and its subsidiary Yota, cost RUB 1.6 per minute.  

Services from VK Mobile are available in Moscow, St Petersburg, Volgograd, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhniy-Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Perm, Rostov, Samara, Chelyabinsk and Ufa.

The official application for Android devices has become available for download on Google Play. The application enables customers to buy top-ups and access self-service options. Sims of the MVNO aren't being distributed yet.
