MetroPCS picks Ericsson, Samsung for LTE launch
US mobile operator MetroPCS announced supply contracts for its planned roll-out of LTE network technology. Ericsson will provide the network infrastructure for the launch, while Samsung will provide the first LTE handset for the operator. MetroPCS plans to launch LTE services in the second half of 2010, with a dual-mode CDMA/LTE phone available late next year.
