Microsoft adds Facebook recommendations to Bing search
Microsoft has started offering Facebook recommendations in search results from Bing. The agreement with Facebook means that Bing users will see recommendations from friends on Facebook displayed alongside the search results, and Facebook users friends' faces will appear next to web pages they've liked. In addition, the two are enahncing people searches on Bing, so that Bing proivides the results most relevant to the user based on his Facebook connections; names with whom the user has mutual friends will be the first to show up. Bing is also making more prominent the ability to add these people as friends on Facebook directly from Bing. The features will initially roll out in the US in the coming weeks. Bing is already the default search engine on Facebook.
