Microsoft plans smartwatch to measure heart rate - report

Microsoft is developing its first wearable device, a smartwatch that measures heart rate and syncs with smartphones, Forbes reports. The device will draw on optical engineering expertise from Microsoft's Xbox Kinect division to measure heart rate continuously, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the company's plans. It was unclear when the device would be launched.
