Microsoft signs up operators to launch Office 365
Microsoft announced the official launch of Office 365, with several operators signed up to distribute the cloud-based software. Started in beta last year, Office 365 offers online access to Microsoft Office, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Lync Online for business communications and collaboration. Over 200,000 businesses and organisations are already using the service, which is supported in 40 countries at launch. Some of the operators who will bundle the software with their own broadband and hosting services include Bell Canada, Telefonica, NTT Communications, KPN, TDC, UPC, TeliaSonera, Orange, Telmex, Telstra and Vodafone. Systems integrators, software vendors, resellers and other partners will also offer Office 365. Microsoft is offering a free 30-day trial of the services, after which Office 365 is expected to cost USD 2-27 per user per month. Some of the services included are enterprise-grade email, shared documents, instant messaging, video and web conferencing, and portals.

Cable operator UPC Poland has added the Microsoft Office 365 service to its offer for business subscribers. A licence for the service is available for business broadband subscribers using 30Mbps, 60Mbps or 150Mbps broadband from the cable operator.

Telia to offer Microsoft 365 from October

Swedish operator Telia announced that it will start offering Microsoft 365 services to customers in October. The online software will be bundled with Telia broadband services for small and medium-sized businesses, with speeds from 1.5 to 100Mbps, as well as telephony, a PBX and integration with mobile broadband. Customers will get a limited number of licences included in the package and then be billed per user.

Finnish mobile operator Elisa has made available Microsoft Office 365, a commercial software plus services offering a set of collaboration and productivity tools delivered through the cloud. UPC Cablecom combines Office 365 with own internet services

Swiss cable network operator UPC Cablecom is now offering Microsoft Office 365 cloud-based products combined with its own internet services. From 28 June, SME customers will have access to the products of both companies. UPC Cablecom business is offering the Microsoft Office 365 products under the name of 'Fiber Powered Office' in a combination package with high-speed internet. Combinations of Office 365 and internet speeds of 30 Mbps, 60 Mbps and 100 Mbps are available.

O2 Ireland is offering cloud software with core services such as mobile voice, mobile broadband and fixed line, together with Microsoft Office 365, Silicon Republic reported. The Office 365 service from O2 is already available to a small number of customers participating in beta trials, with plans to offer a full service to business customers later this year. Office 365 combines Office desktop suite with cloud-based versions of Microsoft's next-generation communications and collaboration services.

UPC to offer Microsoft Office 365

Dutch operator UPC Business has started offering desktop services based on Microsoft Office 365 for small businesses. The package offers Office, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Lync Online as cloud services. No prices were released yet on the cost of the service. KPN announced last month it would also integrate Microsoft Office 365 in its SME desktop service, which is offered for businesses with up to 150 work stations. KPN charges EUR 50 per month for the service, including security and back-up.

Beeline to offer Microsoft Office 365 for businesses

Russian operator Vimpelcom, working under the Beeline brand, has signed a partnership agreement with Microsoft on providing the Microsoft Office 365 cloud services under a SaaS model for business subscribers. Beeline claims it's the first operator to sign such an agreement in Russia. The operator plans to launch the services for corporate subscribers this year.

StarHub partners with Microsoft on Office 365

Microsoft Singapore has partnered with communications firm StarHub on Microsoft's public beta of Office 365 cloud collaboration and communications suite. Office 365 will be bundled with StarHub's broadband plans targeted at SMEs, Computerworld Malaysia writes citing StarHub COO Tan Tong Hai. Office 365 includes hosted versions of Office, SharPoint, Exchange, and Lync and is available in 37 countries and in twenty languages. StarHub has yet to finalise pricing details for the services.
