Mobile SP's back in demand in Dutch market

As per March 2004, ten service providers (SPs) are active or are planning to become active in the Dutch market, up from four active service providers a year ago. Despite the interest in SP business models, the influence of service providers is still small with 13.8% of the total customer base, led by Debitel, Tele2 Mobiel, Albert Heyn and Intercity, according to research by Telecom.paper. Telfort has the highest number of SP customers, but KPN, has the largest base of wholesale customers. In terms of revenues, SP’s billing margin revenues are still small, and are estimated between EUR 132 and 151 million during 2003, pending the assumptions taken. Wholesale service revenues for mobile network operators are estimated at between EUR 422 million and EUR 523 million for 2003.
