Mobilkom Austria upgrades to HSDPA 7.2, HSUPA
Mobile operator Mobilkom Austria will upgrade its A1 network with HSDPA 7.2 and HSUPA technology by end-Q2 2007. It plans to cover more than 85 percent of the Austrian population with HSDPA and HSUPA technology by end-2007. HSDPA 7.2 offers download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, with HSUPA offering upload speeds of up to 1.4 Mbps. All A1 customers already using a Vodafone Mobile Connect Card Broadband 3.6 or a USB modem will be able to upgrade to HSDPA 7.2 with a free software upgrade, available for download from February. Mobilkom will launch the Vodafone Mobile Connect Card for HSUPA at end-March.
