Belgian operators Mobistar and KPN's Belgian unit Base will collaborate to jointly expand their mobile telecommunication networks. This agreement will have a positive impact on network coverage in view of new environmental standards, the mobile operators said. The two agreed to jointly acquire and build new sites for their respective mobile networks. The collaboration covers the sharing of pylons, masts, cables, utilities, safety precautions and transmission systems, but radio infrastructure does not fall under the agreement. The operators will operate the shared sites on their own account.
