Mobitel acquires blizoo Bulgaria from EQT V
Telekom Austria announced that its Bulgarian subsidiary Mobiltel agreed with the seller EQT V to acquire 100 percent of the cable operator blizoo Bulgaria. Blizoo is the second largest fixed-line operator in Bulgaria and has an 8 percent share in the fixed broadband market and an 11 percent share in the TV market, according to Telekom Austria's estimate.

At present, the company has approximately 373,000 subscribers, which obtain fixed voice, broadband and TV products via Docsis 3 technology. In total, blizoo Bulgaria covers 1.3 million households. In 2014, revenues and EBITDA amounted to EUR 47 million and EUR 19 million. As agreed between the parties, details regarding the purchase price will not be released. Telekom Austria Group will finance the transaction via existing cashflow. The closing is expected for Q4. The transaction is subject to merger control clearance.

Mobiltel revenues down 6% to EUR 88 mln in Q3

Bulgarian operator Mobiltel's revenues declined by 5.8 percent year-on-year in the third quarter to EUR 88.3 million. Blizoo acquisition by Mtel gets OK from competition body

Bulgaria's commission for the protection of competition approved the deal for Mtel's acquisition of 100 percent of the cable operator blizoo Bulgaria from EQT V. The news comes after Telekom Austria Group (TAG) announced in July that Mtel will acquire blizoo Bulgaria. The transaction will be financed through existing cash flows of the group. It is expected that the actual integration of Mtel and blizoo to Bulgaria will be completed by the end of 2015.
